Comment: After HS I went to SJSU as pre-med. Unable to get into med school (most likely my steller grades), I became a SCUBA Instructor and worked the local dive shops teaching until I became an Instructor Trainer and photography instructor, which brought me to work in the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, and Saudi Arabia. In 1981, I created a publishing company, which produced two magazines (Discover Diving and Dive Report), maps, log books, travel and dive shows, and a line of diving and travel books. I traveled the World diving, shooting photography, including catalogs and magazine covers. I sold the publishing company in 1998 to Peterson Publishing and stayed on as a Group Publisher, managing several titles until 2000. In 2000, I ran a top 200 trade show for 3 years, and subsequently started my current company, Fast Forward Ventures, an event and PR agency. We own the San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival (Rated #1 in the US this year), SommCon (a Sommelier convention in DC and SD, and Fit Foodie (fitness and race series). In between, I sailed to Hawaii and back (lived on my boat for 10 yrs), became a pilot in 1988 now with over 2500 hours. A level 2 Sommilier and finally took up golf when I turned 60. Married for 33 years, no kids. NOT retired and enjoying life. |

Comment: Hi everyone! Haven't seen any of you since our 20 year reunion - it all goes too fast! After graduating from and then working at UC Santa Barbara where I met my future husband Mark, we moved 14 times over 43 years of marriage for his education and then various jobs as a clinical research developer. We have finally landed in Ventura and don't plan on moving again. After living in Germany for 5-1/2 years, I'm a bit traveled out so not doing much of that either right now. With 3 grown children and 6 fabulous grandchildren (ages 11 down to 3 years old with another one due in December) I have lots to keep me busy! Looking forward to seeing you at the reunion. |
